14 Best Peloton Shoes, According to Indoor Cyclists
Upgrading your Peloton gear can do wonders for your cycling game. Aside from the actual Peloton bike, one of the most important things to have in your home gym essentials is a pair of Peloton bike shoes to clip into your pedals and keep you steady throughout your ride. You can always opt for the original Peloton shoes, but there are plenty of other Peloton cycle shoes you might find more convenient, comfortable, and stylish.
When shopping for Peloton cycling shoes, it’s imperative that they work with Delta cleats. These are the triangle-shaped pieces of plastic that attach to the bottom of your shoe and clip into your pedals to ensure you stay locked into your bike. Other indoor bikes require two-bolt shoes, which are not recommended for the Peloton. You can find out what kind of cleats your bike shoes are made for by flipping them over and looking at the screw outline on the soles. Two adjacent holes means you have a two-bolt shoe (not compatible with the Peloton bike). Peloton-compatible shoes will have a triangle made out of three holes; these are called three-bolt cycling shoes. As a note, not all shoes come with cleats, meaning you may have to purchase Peloton cleats separately.
Other than buying shoes with the right cleats, Peloton cycle shoes should also be comfortable, lightweight, and breathable so that you can stay focused on your ride. To help take the guesswork out of your shopping experience, we scoured online reviews and even asked a few indoor cyclists to share the Peloton shoes they’d recommend investing in. Our curated guide breaks down the best Peloton-compatible cycling shoes, including Peloton-branded options and Peloton shoes on Amazon that are equal parts affordable and fashionable (not to mention a few pairs worn by some of the best Peloton instructors themselves). Read on to find your next favorite pair of cycling shoes.

Bucklos Cycling Shoes ($40-43)
If you’re an indoor cycling newbie who needs a good starter Peloton shoe, this might be the perfect fit. They have a velcro strap and rotating buckle, to help a variety of foot shapes get a comfortable fit. They’re compatible with two- or three-bolt cleats, so you can switch between different types of bikes as you try different indoor cycling workouts. And the synthetic leather and a mesh upper makes for a lightweight feel. Not to mention, they’re affordable, so you aren’t shelling out the big bucks for a hobby that may or may not stick.
Santic Cycling Shoes ($40-80)
If you’re looking for affordable yet durable cycling shoes, these Santic cycling shoes are a great buy. “Looks great, a cool his or hers cycling shoe,” one reviewer wrote, although others noted that you do have to buy the cleats separately. That said, these shoes have a thickened heel cup, so you can work out without worrying about your foot slipping out. Not to mention, the cool blue color of these Peloton compatible shoes will stand out against your black and red bike.
Roknemo Cycling Shoes ($53-$59)
One of the cheapest pairs of Peloton-compatible cycling shoes on Amazon, this pair from Roknemo comes with an 18-month warranty and is compatible with both two- and three-bolt cleats. The perforated upper and the mesh vents on the base offer ventilation and air flow for indoor rides or road bike tours. Reviewers describe them as “lightweight and breathable,” which is exactly what you want in a cycling shoe.
Patavinity Unisex Cycling Shoes ($40)
These Patavinity cycling shoes are functional, durable, and stylish all at once. Mesh vents make them extra breathable, with supportive soles to keep you comfortable while you ride. Reviewers say they appreciate the durability, quality materials, and overall comfort these spinning shoes provide. “The snug fit ensures that my feet stay firmly in place during my rides, without any uncomfortable pinching or rubbing. The shoes also have a very breathable design, which keeps my feet feeling cool and dry even during intense workouts,” one cyclist wrote. “The shoes are also extremely durable. The high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship ensure that they can withstand even the most challenging cycling routes.” Bear in mind the Peloton bike shoes have a slightly narrow fit, so if you have wider feet, you may want to consider sizing up.
Tommaso Pista Road Bike Cycling Shoe ($66-107)
With dual-cleat compatibility (meaning you can attach either Delta cleats or two-bolt SPD cleats), this cycling shoe offers the best of both worlds. “I absolutely recommend these shoes if you’re searching for a cute pair of indoor cycling shoes,” one buyer wrote, adding that they were easy to clip in and out of the bike. The sole is also made out of reinforced fiberglass for a more powerful and smoother pedal stroke, whether you’re using these as cycling shoes for Peloton classes or out on your road bike.
Tommaso Veloce II Cycling Shoes ($70-75)
These tongueless cycling shoes are made to help you cycle faster. They come with carbon fiber-infused soles, universal cleat compatibility, and a sturdy faux leather design. Shoppers say they’re especially great if you have wider feet and traditional Peloton shoes feel too narrow, saying to check the sizing guide on the company website for the best fit. “I have wide size 13 US feet and these are a great fit,” one reviewer wrote, adding that the shoes can also accommodate their merino wool socks and custom gel insoles without feeling cramped. “If you’re just starting out, get them, great balance of price and quality,” they say. Note that these shoes don’t come with cleats, so you’ll have to purchase those separately.
Tommaso Pista Aria Knit Indoor Cycling Shoe ($74-110)
Durable and breathable, these Tommaso cycling shoes are made to hug your feet without stretching over time and hailed as one of the best shoes for the Peloton bike. “These were my first clip on riding shoes ever and they worked out beautifully,” one reviewer wrote. “They fit comfortably and they were easy to learn how to clip onto pedals. I use them for a spin class and they make my riding experience much more enjoyable.” These Peloton cleats are available to shop with the option including cleats, or without, so be sure to purchase the best style depending on your needs.
Nike SuperRep Cycle 2 Next Nature ($70-145)
Comfortable, breathable, ultra-lightweight — these are the words that come up in indoor cyclists’ reviews of the Nike SuperRep shoes. These spinning shoes include an external plate that can pair with shoe clips to lock in to the pedal. But reviewers are also in agreement that they run small, so consider sizing up.
Tommaso Pista Aria Elite Quick Lace Cleats ($66-91)
If you want a comfortable and breathable shoe for Peloton rides, these quick-lace Peloton cycling shoes may be the way to go. The shoes are made with a nylon knit yarn that allows for breathability while ensuring they won’t stretch over time. “I simply do not notice them at all while riding, which is the goal for any pair of shoes during a workout,” one reviewer confirmed, attributing the level of comfort to the mesh upper.
Shimano IC1 Indoor Cycling Shoes ($100)
These sleek Shimano cycling shoes make it easy to slip on your biking shoes and go. They have a similar fit and feel to socks, but with a toe cap to offer a little additional support without compromising your wiggle room. While customer reviews confirm the shoes are Peloton compatible, you’ll still need to purchase cleats separately. They do not include Peloton shoe clips upon purchasing.
Vittoria Hera Performance Road Cycling Shoes ($100-110)
These cycling shoes are only made for three-bolt cleats, just like the kind you’ll need for your home Peloton bike. These Peloton-compatible cycling shoes feature double straps and an adjustable buckle for stability and flexibility. They’re also available to shop in a variety of colorways, so you can purchase a style that’s perfect for you and your workout wardrobe.
Peloton Cycling Shoes ($106)
It goes without saying that the Peloton-branded shoes are your safest bet. These Peloton shoes feature a breathable upper and mesh vent with a ratchet clip and velcro straps for a perfectly snug fit. And while they’re on the pricier end of cycling shoes, you can purchase these as part of a bundle (along with a bike mat, weights, and other accessories) when you buy your Peloton bike and get a small discount. (More about Peloton prices, here.)
Tiem Slipstream Women’s Cycling Shoe ($135)
“The only shoe I’m clipping in with is the Tiem Slipstream indoor cycling shoe,” says group fitness instructor Jordan Reichert. “I have either taught or taken almost 1200 classes in these shoes and I trust them to do the job. They’re SPD compatible, provide stellar arch support like your favorite sneaker, and come in super fun colors.” Schneider agrees that Tiems are a functional and comfortable choice. “They have the cleats positioned up inside of the shoes so that you can walk with them and transition to strength without switching shoes,” she says.
To get the Slipstreams to work with a Peloton, however, you’ll have to change out the pedals on your bike. These spinning shoes do not include Peloton cleats. The Tiem site specifically recommends the Shimano M520 SPD Pedal or a dual-sided pedal that can accommodate the SPD (two-hole) cleat.
Adidas The Indoor Cycling Shoe ($113)
The classic three-stripe design of these spinning shoes feature an upper made of 50% recycled content, and a stiff midsole to help you pedal more efficiently. “I love how light these are!” one reviewer gushes. “They are not tight and the design is so cool, I’m in love.”
