11 Scary-Good Halloween Workouts to Get You Sweating All Spooky Season Long

It’s officially Halloween season, and fans of Oct. 31 have full permission to express their love for all things spooky — whether they do so through Halloween nail art, bath products, or by building the perfect funny costume. If your passion for Halloween intersects with a passion for fitness, we have you covered — both with fitness-y Halloween costumes that can go from gym to trick-or-treating with ease, and with some Halloween workouts.

A Halloween workout is like your normal workout, with a Halloween twist. That may mean a HIIT routine set to Halloween music, or a strength workout that asks you to swap our your dumbbells for actual pumpkins. Regardless, they’re a lot of fun — as evidenced by these Halloween workout videos on Youtube. Throw on some ’80s-approved workout gear, fuel up with a couple pieces of candy corn (as long as you know it doesn’t upset your stomach), and get ready for a fitness-y version of trick or trick: sweat or spook. And wait, did someone say Halloween bath bombs? Because that sounds like the perfect post-workout wind down.

You can’t help but love this dynamic, high-intensity haunted workout. Grab a friend or two and try out this 30-minute HIIT-focused dance session, which brings with it energizing vibes that are perfect for spooky season. Led by instructor Kaleila Jordan, this high intensity interval training class will get your heart racing, and will work out your entire body. Happy Halloween!

We love the creepy-cool vibe of this Billie Eilish dance workout, created by choreographer Mylee Dance. It’s time to let it all out and dance. And, it’s the perfect routine to pull up when you want to challenge yourself with more advanced moves.

If you love Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) classic “Hocus Pocus,” this workout is about to put a spell on you. Dance choreographer and fitness instructor Joseph Corella leads the upbeat choreography, which is set to, you guessed it, “I Put a Spell on You” and features simple bodyweight moves and spot-on costumes.

For a longer workout, tap into this dance cardio session from Gina B of Up to the BEat Fit. It’s a good one for all levels and features hit after Halloween hit, including classic songs like the “Monster Mash” and “Time Warp.”

Put your extra pumpkin to use with this 25-minute workout from Healthy With Kelsey. You’ll complete eight intervals at 45 seconds, 30 seconds, 15 seconds, with one to two minutes of rest between sets. The ingredients for this pumpkin workout include exercises like the squat press, single leg deadlift to row, curtsy lunge with a front raise, and twists. While Kelsey is using an 8-10 lb pumpkin, if you don’t have an actual pumpkin available, grab a pair of dumbbells, like these PS Neoprene Dumbbells ($7-20), available in increments of 3-, 5-, 8-, and 10-lb options, or these fully adjustable Stakt hand weights.

From the makeup to the lighting to the costume, this 30-minute dance workout is perfect for getting you in the Halloween spirit! This group fitness class is led by HyperBody, a multimedia artist and AFAA-certified group-fitness instructor, who takes you through simple but effective dance choreography to get your whole body moving.

Only have time for a quick workout? Look no further than this five-minute dance workout set to “Thriller,” which gets you moving and sweating with hip thrusts, punches, arm holds, and more.

Cassey Ho, a Pilates instructor and founder of Popflex and Blogilates, created this bodyweight workout that targets your arms, abs, and glutes for a sleek, low-impact, Catwoman-inspired routine. Throw on your black leggings (slicked-back hair and lipstick optional), and join in!

Yes, there is already a “Thriller” workout in this playlist, but it’s Halloween and we deserve more than one. This dance choreography is a little trickier, but we love the intense feel of the video and the way bodyweight exercises like squats are weaved into the dance moves.

This balanced group fitness class is a full-body workout that starts fast and never slows down. Led by group fitness instructor Jennifer Lewis, you’ll fly through upbeat versions of classic Halloween songs until the sweat is dripping!

If “Monster” isn’t already considered a Halloween classic, we think this creepy, powerful Halloween dance workout can change that. Get ready for monster claws, punches, and plenty of sweat.
